On December 18, the 2021 Law Firm Development Forum hosted by Beijing Dentons Law Offices, LLP (Guangzhou) and the 20th anniversary celebration of Dentons Guangzhou Office was held in Guangzhou.
Liao Ronghui, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director and First-level Inspector of the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Justice; Liu Tao, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress and Vice President of the Guangdong Lawyers Association; Huang Shan, Vice President of the Guangdong Provincial Lawyers Association and President of the Guangzhou Municipal Lawyers Association; Xing Yiqiang, honorary president of the Guangzhou Municipal Lawyers Association, former Vice President of Guangdong Provincial Lawyers Association and former President of Guangzhou Municipal Lawyers Association; and Bi Yalin, Vice President of Guangdong Provincial Lawyers Association and Guangzhou Municipal Lawyers Association, attended the forum and celebration and delivered speeches.
At the forum, in the form of video play, Dentons Global Chairman Joe Andrew and Global CEO Elliott Portnoy illustrated the development trend of law firms from a global perspective, and expressed the wish for Dentons to become a law firm representing the future.
Liu Shoumin, deputy to the National People’s Congress, Vice President of the 9th All China Lawyers Association, and Director of Dentons Chengdu Office, shared Chengdu experience and practice in cultural construction in recent years under the theme of “pursuing cultural goals and empathizing with people”.
Zhihedongfang founder and CEO Hong Zu summed up his observations on the Chinese legal market in 2021 in his presentation “Four Trends and Three Changes”. Although changes in the global situation and market demand have brought uncertainty to China’s legal market, the choice of adhering to long-term development concept will surely usher in higher-quality development.
Zhang Ping, member of the management committee of Jun He Law Offices and managing partner of Dentons Guangzhou Office, shared Jun He’s refined management experience in his presentation “Log Records and Law Firm’s Refined Management”.
Liu Rongrong, Director of Dentons Shanghai Office, shared her thoughts on law firm management: an open, inclusive and altruistic culture, and the ability to innovate, tolerate and rectify are the core competitiveness of a law firm. The logic of survival in a digital era is symbiosis, and cooperation is the way to broader prospects.
At the roundtable forum, Bo Wenjun, Deputy Director of the Young Lawyers Working Committee of Guangzhou Lawyers Association, hosted the discussion of “Growth of young lawyers”.
